WinGate Proxy 2.04

Postby delbus » Apr 20 07 5:37 am

Dear Forums,

I am a Tech for a School District, and we have your WinGate Proxy 2.04 running at two of our locations.

Recently the admin account pasword on the 2003 Server has changed.

The WinGate Proxy and network was working up to this point, but after the change I believe that the proxy stopped working, and all users were able to go anywhere on the web they wanted.

But the accounts on the server that had the proxy configured,- the XP Pro machines would receive a Generic , Proxy Error with no reference to the number of the error. This error is believed to come from the WinGate Proxy program.

The Xp machines are using IE 6.0

I am needing help with this "Socket Error" there were no error numbers given.

Just to confirm and be sure it's not a mistype, you are using a 2.0 version? Or is this version 6.0.4?

In the support ticket which is nearly identical to this post, delbus said 2.1d.

1. So what verison are you using?
You right click the WinGate.exe and find the properties

2. What account does the "Qbik WinGate Engine" login to the Windows Services with.
(Windows) Start menu --> Run --> Services.msc
