Where can I download 5.0.7?

Postby saubrey » Oct 05 03 4:28 pm

I inadvertently deleted my 5.0.7 installer. 5.0.8 is not stable for me. Where can I download 5.0.7?

I had been running 5.0.7 for many months and it worked. It accepted connections from Clients using NAT. It could cause my modem to dial, and in general 5.0.7 stayed running for up to 15 days before crapping out (i.e. refusing client connections). By far this was the most stable Wingate release in two years. 5.0.8 on the other had seems to refuse all client requests unless my modem has connected, but 5.0.8 won't dial the modem. Also even if I manually dial the modem, 50% of the time Wingate still refuses client connections.

Are you using the WWW proxy, or via transparent redirect?

OK, we just found something in our network driver that could be causing a problem like this.

I am going to make a couple of changes in it - would you be able to test and see if that fixes the problem?

I will try the new driver if you send it to me.

Yes I am running TR thru WWW Proxy, FTP Proxy, and POP3 Proxy. 5.0.8 seemed to behave better once I turned off TR...although it still had problems like within a few hours Wingate would still refuse client connections...but it did behave better than when TR was on. Also, and this could be a completely separate issue, but it seems that if after Wingate causes the modem to hang up, then the modem will no longer register with my ISP. What I mean is that the modem dialer shows "connecting", then "verifying username/password", then "registering", then it gets "TCP/IP CP error 31" and disconnects. I tried 10 times in a row and still got "TCP/IP CP error 31". Turning on/off the modem doesn't help. The only thing that helps is rebooting the server and then I can successfully connect & register with my ISP one time, but once Wingate causes a modem hangup, then my modem can no longer register with my ISP.

Thanks for helping me.

OK, I made some changes - just going to test them here first, then I will send you an XP driver.
