Help me Please... !

I recently Uninstalled Wingate and installed another proxy server.... after removing wingate is still in my registry and when i try to run other psoxy server on WWW post 80 they say that other proxy server already running there... what shoul i do .. wingate is not removing from registry.... :( please help me !!!!

Are you sure it's WinGate ? If you run GateKeeper.exe (You can extract it from an installation set by running wgsetup /x) can you still connect to WinGate ?

The places to check is (a) nothing in the folder you installed WinGate to (Normally C:\Program Files\WinGate, (b) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Qbik Software\WinGate.

If you are running a 9x based OS, verify that your "Startup" programs do not contain WinGate and if it's an NT based OS, verify that the service is at least disabled.

If you can't find WinGate in either of those locations, you most likely have another proxy server / web server running OR you have a trojan that uses that port.
