NTLM not working properly

Postby StuKeR » May 03 07 4:33 am

Hi!

I'm using 6 version of winGate with Win2k3 server. I've enabled the NTLM authentification by system polices and throught the WWW proxy service. But something happend is ocurring.

I've stablished one user that will have some permisions and other users other permisions thought the WWW proxy service and the other systems polices are checked as ignored.

The thing is that any machine with IE 6.0 or IE 7.0 wingate doesn't detect the user. This machines validate on the domain of windows2003. I explain:

If in the polices is marked as Everyone unlimited and with autentification, there's no problem, because Wingate detects the user with the NTLM and then If I apply the restrictions the user can surf (until he/she) doesn't close the IE.
But, If the polices are marked up since begginning the user can't surf throught any web (also can't on anypermissed web) because wingate says that is a Guest. If I want that the user could navigate I should turn of the polices from the group, turn the unlimited and then tell to user to navigate, wingate recognice the user with the NTLM and then turn up de polices.

What I could do ??? I've try with the option of IE 6.0 and 7.0 to autentificate the user with the same account, but happend the same...

Please HELP!

Best Regards and many thx!

I find it a bit challenging to follow your post, but it sounds like the Guest account is disabled in WinGate - Does enabling it help this problem?

If you are still having problems then please send in your WinGate registry and we will look to see how it is setup.
GateKeeper --> Options menu --> Advanced --> Save Registry Settings.

Please reference this forum post, and also comment on whether you are trying to use a Domain user database or a Local Windows User Database.
