Problem with 2 nic card

Postby alessandro » Mar 23 04 4:06 am

have wingate 5.0.1 installed only as proxy ( no ENS), windows xp pro. I've added a second nic card and after this I am not able to connect with gatekeeper. It seems that no tcp-ip port are listening. I've uninstalled the second nic, then wingate and after this I am not able to open any connection (ex. telnet, ftp ) to other local and remote server. Then I've also removed and reinstalled the first card and all network protocol and servicies, but It does not work. I had the same problem times ago with an other pc (windows 2000), when I changed the nic card I had the same effect.
How can I solve without reinstalling widows? What can I check?

Hi Alessandro

My first suggestion would be to try and installing WinGate 5.2.3 as there has been numerous improvements since that 5.0.1 version for network interface, and driver enhancements.

You could try making sure both NICs are installed before attempting to reinstall WinGate.

My second suggestion would be to make sure that you have the latest drivers for your cards as these can sometimes be a source of these sorts of problems.
