activex blocking

Postby n0ticer » Apr 03 04 12:38 am

for somehow i was able to block numerous activex sites (sites w/ dialers, toolbars, ads, etc). from the www proxy server> ban list> i made the following restrictions:

HTTP URL ends with ".cab" and HTTP URL ends with ".dll"

are there other extensions for activex that i cud use for blocking? i know .swf is one.

tnx

if you block .cab you can't use windows update anymore and swf is shock wave, better not block... try blocking .gbs (something related to gator)
better yet go to www.wilderssecurity.com/spywareblaster.html

here's d free version :)

i hope they will not remove this thread... bcoz most "connection problems" being discussed here are mostly cauz by these spywares... many people are not aware of that, & blame it over to wingate.
