Wingate 5.0.10 Upgrading Problem

Postby Manu » Oct 12 03 8:49 pm

Hi all,
When i upgraded my Wingate 5.0.6 to Wingate 5.0.10, I cant see any services whcih was there in services windows except POP3 Proxy server.
It is the same with the System window too - not appearing all the informations which was there before
But all the services are running without any problems, according to the previous settings

Appreciated if anybody could help me on the same.

Hi
Would you be able to go into Regedit, go to the key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Qbik Software\WinGate

and select Registry:export registry file and email me with the results to adrien@qbik.com? Sounds like a problem a couple of people have been seeing recently.

Have you rebooted since the upgrade?

I saw something like that too and a reboot put everything right.

OK, found the problem by trying with your registry.

It is a coding error in the WinGate engine unfortunately. Looks like need to put another version out.

Odd thing is that this was broken on 4 September.... only affects certain users though - those with plugins installed that are not enabled on a service.

So, if you want to get rid of this error, you would need to go into the registry, and under

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Qbik Software\WinGate\Services

for each service key, there is a subkey called "Data Scanning Plugins"

If you stop the engine, delete all these keys, then start the engine again, it will remove all the bindings of the plugins to services, you will then need to go back into each service you want to enable plugins for, and click on the "rebuild plugins" button.
