local e-mail PARSING from ISP POP3 catch_all account

Postby james_t » May 14 04 3:57 am

HI ALL
I am new to WinGate (trying it out) and I find the documentation (online Help, Knowledgebase, whitepapers etc.) very informative BUT they fail to answer one mail scenario. (or I'm skipping pages)

I need to:
Distribute mail, to my local network users, from a catch-all POP3 account at my ISP (I access via ISDN) user@ISP.net that receives forwarded mail from a domain mycompany.com
(to clarify: I don't have mailboxes for local users at my ISP mail server. I just have a single account that collects all that people sent to anyting@mycompany.com)

What do I exactly want?
I want WinGate to gather all e-mails from this single catch-all account (user@ISP.net and then PARSE the messages further, according to their header, because the messages are meant for user_n@mycompany.com
I have 4 clients (using MS Outlook), defined as users in WinGate, with their mailboxes etc.

I can pretty much control we way the messages are sent (SMTP server)
What I have problems with is the POP3 side...
What am I doing wrong?

I'm still using MDeamon (but obviously I wish to switch to WinGate, because of the versatility etc.). With MDeamon the thing with parsing and further distributing messages is very straight forward. I just can't get the concept of WinGate... Please Help.

DETAILS:
-----------
Sys nfo:
Server and clients Win2000Pro SP4
ISDN TA (I use WinGate as a Router with 4 LAN Adapters) - no other hub nor router

Anyone...? :-)

Hi James,

Which version of WinGate are you using? The beta version and the upcoming version 6 release will support this feature.
