Can not explore internet on client machine :(

Postby tomie » May 22 04 12:21 am

I am running the Wingate server on a WinXP machine. The client is running Win98. For some reason everthing is working fine except that I can not browse the internet (port 80). I have tried everything, but it doesn't seem to solve this issue.
In the Gatekeeper activity list all i see is http:// and in history DNS: A lookup "www.google.com"
I dont know how to solve this. I also tried upgrading to version 6 but this still does the same thing.
If anyone has any ideas your help would be appreciated.

Your port 80 is probably busy with IIS. Try to change proxy port.

Do you use NAT? Or you want to use usual proxy?

Hi

What version of the browser are you using on your 98 client?

Also do you have policies set up in the WWW proxy requiring users to be authenticated? I have seen that do this in the past.
