Wingate 5.2.3 and AOL7.0 dialup problem

Postby agaisc » May 24 04 8:32 pm

my situation is I install AOL7.0 dialup and wingate in server machine and want to share the connection to another client, only for IE broswing.

for the server machine, if I only install AOL, I can get online.
but after I install wingate and do no configuration, I CANNOT get online, and the AOL said "connection fail, cannot establish TCP link".

and, although I tried to uninstall wingate, I still cannot connect to AOL.
what I have to do is completely uninstall AOL and reinstall it in other directory.

I would like to know how can I solve this?

Hi

When you get this TCP link failure, do you see any entries in the firewall tab in WinGate?

Also, how are you dialing, from the AOL dialer, or are you using WinGate's dial on demand settings. I guess if you have set no parameters in WinGate, then it won't be able to use the dialer yet.

We did have some issues with dialer support in 5.2.3 however which we believe are fixed in the 6.0 beta. If you are interested you could try that version.

Hi,

after I install wingate, i first set in the gatekeep-> dialer to enable the AOL dialer for wingate.
Then I open the AOL application and try to connection to the internet as usual......then get the tcp link error
I am not using dial-on-demand from client machine, because I have not connect any client machine to the gatewate machine. I got the error when I use my gateway machine only.

do u mean that if I can see entries in firewall, then the firewall is blocking the connection? so I should open the port or do others?
