WG 6 Email Collection

Postby simon.fking » Jun 02 04 2:15 am

Hi,

I have tried to configure WG to collect email every 10 mins. In the System Activity section of GateKeeper it shows the list of users it is attempting to downloading email for. It has in a week downloaded email for two out of five users, once for one user, twice for the other. It has not recieved any email from the other 3 users at all.

When showing in Gatekeeper, the list of POP Collections is often is excess of 50 collections long, for just 5 users. The only time frame that email has been downloaded is from 3:58am to 4:50am. Does WG Email only download email when there is no other network activity going through the server???

When it has downloaded the email to the local server, it has made clients very happy with the fast download speeds of the email. The system seems promising if I can get it to work.

Thank-you.

Hi again,

I have managed to have email download for just one user reliably. I achieved this be disabled mail collections for the other 4 of the 5 users. By manually alternating them, i could sucessfully download everyones email.

However this is rather annoying. Any suggestions???

Thanks

Thanks for the referal, i turned on the debugging for the SMTP Server and i have posted the result (with times etc taken out for clarity). Where it says :
user5@pop.ihug.com.au <=S: -ERR authorization first
user5@pop.ihug.com.au C=>: PASS ********

I am unsure what it means by -ERR authorization first. Could it be that I will need to set a specific Authentication Method such as USER/PASS???

Thank-you.
