Open ports 1026,1029,1038 and 1050: Closed Port 113

Postby Iceman » Oct 17 03 8:20 am

Once again I rain the ports probe offered on Steve Gibson's Shields Up site. It shows the Wingate Firewall leaves open my ports 1026,1029,1038,and 1050. Port 113 is closed. All other ports tested are stealthed. Do these Open Ports present any kind of security problems. Do I need to reconfigure the Wingate Firewall, and if so, How? Thanks

Extended Networking - Port Security - Connections from the Internet

Easiest thing to do is change Default Action to Deny.

If those ports are listed and they aren't needed, you can delete the entry for each.

Don't know what you serving behind WinGate but WG Services generally make entries in the firewall to be sure that the port they use is open.
