Wingate 4.4.0

Postby mkt0411@yahoo.com » Jul 06 04 12:55 am

Soem of my customers are using Wingate 4.4.0, ( and due to software reasons cannot upgrade) what we are seeing is that the Wingate Server PC can access one of our sites, and is able to work well, however from the client side it does not work....
It attempts to access the Web Site, but then stalls.

I have dedicated IP address for the Wingate Server, which connects to the internet.
The clicnet PC, has a IP address, and the IP address of the Wingate Server as its default gateway.
In IE, the Proxy Setting is the IP address of the Wingate Server ..
When we test with out Wingate Proxy software and just using Win 2k ICS , all works...
I have also noticed that I am unable to access the ENS area of teh Winagate Prox Server
Any advice would welcomed
Thks

Hi

when you say "software reasons" what do you mean? For instance they could still use their previous license, but get the benefits of the bug fixes of later versions.

Version 4.4 is pretty old! I think the ENS driver in that system was an old Intermediate miniport driver, which had a bunch of problems, we changed to a hooking driver from 4.5 onwards which was much more reliable.

Hello Adrian
When I say Software , bascially all my customers are in te Travel Business, and they use a variety of "Booking "Systems..
System A: Works with Wingate 4.4., but not with later version s.
System B: Works with all current Wingate versions , but has difficulty with version 4.4
Now the problem is that makers of System B, brought out new software that and the users feel that its their fault.. hence my problem...
In Wingate 4.4 I cannot even seem to be able to access EMS
System b its seesm needs a certain Ports that need to be open, its works fine on teh server it self but not on a client.
