Upgrade

Postby dholm » Jul 07 04 8:16 pm

I upgraded to the 5.2.3 from version 4. My client receives email fine, but with a browser it connects to a site but never downloads any information. It just sits there. What do I need to check? The server computer works all fine.

Hi David,

One problem I had was that the internal mail server of wingate "captured" the mail which was supposed to go to the ISP. At least the logon details were not transmitted. My simplest option was to stop the smtp-server.

Upgrade Problem

Postby dholm » Jul 08 04 5:58 am

Mail is working fine. I am noot using the mail option at all. My problem is that the Browser on the client connects to a site then just sits waiting for download which never comes. I don't even see anything transferring on the server connection except an occasional request.

Sorry I misunderstood. your mail setup is working fine, so it was not the pop/smtp connection as I assumed. I assume you are discussing on line mailing in a browser, and you can't download the mails. Unfortunately I have no experience in these programs. What program are you using, and what provider? One other option which sometimes helped is disabling "Redirect ENS and WGIC sessions" in the WWW-proxy;Sessions. For instance my live-update on symantec could not download an update, until I temporarily switched this of.

Good luck
