what service are you connecting to?
WGIC has built-in authentication to WinGate.
If you use NAT however, and your connection is intercepted, then the proxy that intercepts it may require authentication which was previously being performed by WGIC. Even though WGIC connections still get intercepted by proxies, when they do so, the proxy inherits the credentials that were established by the WGIC. NAT can't do this.
