Hi

the first question is how do you connect to the Internet.

If you have a full-time connection, then you could be configured to accept the incoming mail directly. If you don't, then you would need to pull the mail down from your ISP.

Option 1. Full-time connection with fixed IP.

1. You need to get whoever hosts the DNS for your domain, to set up a record called an 'MX record" which then specifies that a particular machine (your server) is the server that is responsible for receiving mail for that domain.

2. WinGate would then run on this machine on port 25 (or if this machine is a firewall, you would open a hole on port 25/TCP and point it through to the WinGate server). In WinGate mail, you would add a domain on the domains tab, with the name of the domain you are hosting. specify that mail for this domain is hosted locally.

3. Users on your network would then retrieve mail out of their mailboxes (so you would need to set up a user account and mailbox for each user) using WinGate's POP3 server.

Option 2. non-permanent connection.

1. Your mail would still be hosted by your ISP. Using WinGate 6 POP3 collection, you would download mail from this account, and specify that it deliver to matching local domains.

Step 2 and 3 would be as above.
