PPP control protocols

Postby jsurtees » Oct 20 03 3:15 am

I installed 5.0.10 yesterday. It seemed to work OK last night, but today I am getting error messages in the Dialer log saying:

'Connection attempt failed because your computer and the remote computer could not agree on PPP control protocols'

If I reboot the server (W2K Pro) it connects, but if I disconnect and try again it fails.

Can anyone advise please.

Thanks

OK, this is a really weird one!

It makes me immediately suspicious of a fix I put in to a certain problem just before putting out 5.0.10

Would I be able to send you a driver to test to see if that resolves the problem?

ALl that is required would be to copy the file over your existing qbikhk??.sys in your system32\drivers folder and reboot..

let me know and I'll send you one

I thought it was working, but it just collapsed again with the same
error message...

Can I install an earlier version over the top, or do I have to
uninstall? If I have to uninstall, how can I keep my settings?

I did that - but as I said, it made no difference.

Can I install a previous version over the top of this one or do I have to uninstall 5.0.10 first?

It's over a week now and I'm still having to reboot after 2 or 3 internet connections...
