Pop collection mail time

Postby MastaCico » Sep 12 07 1:23 am

Hi,
I wonder if there is the change to set WG pop collection to get the correct email received time from the isp mailbox instead of using its own retrival time.

Is there also an option to set certain users can't use the external gateway for smtp?, i mean to use only local mailboxes and if the user try to send to a different domain themail will be rejected.

Thanks for the great work you all did it with this program.

Hi

When you mean the time on the email, do you mean the time that shows in an email client?

if so, this one is stamped into the message when it was sent by the original sender. WinGate POP3 collection only adds a received: header, but doesn't otherwise stamp the message downloaded.

or is this using WinGate's IMAP?

If you want to have certain users not able to relay, you can set a email trust policy to make them untrusted based on their sender address. Then they won't be able to relay out your server.

Hi,
I mean the time shown in Outlook, in the mail header there is the correct sent time but outlook show the received time given by Wg that is the time it collected the mail from the ISP.
this is not a real trouble but if WG is stopped for long time all the new emails will be marked as received in the same time so the user has to check the original sent time from the mail.

Thanks
