Preventing External Proxy Abuse?

Postby decryptoid » Oct 03 07 4:27 am

Anyone no how to do this? I have a web proxy setup on the external nic which reverse proxies several internal servers by name. However, the "default deny" setting does nothing and this means my proxy is open for abuse by people who want to use it as a public proxy. Is there something I can do about this?

On a side note... there is a bug which does not save edits to the reverse proxy list - (delete entries then restart wingate and they all come back!)

Solved....

Apparently all I had to do was add a filter for that service so it only responded when requests were made to ip addresses that matched mine. This instantly fixed the problem!

I still won't saved edited lists on the reverse proxy screen though.

Does turning on the Auto Save help that?
GateKeeper --> Options menu --> Auto Save Changes
