SSL Connection Question

Postby ninmot » Aug 19 04 5:00 am

Hi,

I am making a secure port connection (443) to a website through Wingate 5.0.2 it isn't very solid and we must "refresh" the page a lot to get the site to work. Is there any solution to this? Would an upgrade to Version 6 be a good answer?

Thank You,
Dan

Hi

Depending on how the client is connecting through WinGate, there may be no noticeable change.

Is this client using NAT, or going through the WinGate HTTP proxy?

We didn't really make any changes to the CONNECT command in our HTTP proxy. This is what browsers use to make SSL connections through a proxy.

However 5.0.2 is a very old version. You could try upgrading to 5.2.3, or even 6.0.0. 5.2.3 should be a fairly transparent upgrade, since all the settings are the same.
