connect my computer to a remote one using wingate

Postby pbaranain » Dec 20 07 2:10 am

hello!
I cannot connect from my work computer to my computer in another
office using remote desktop. We use Wingate (6.1.1) proxy
server at work. The remote office is not using wingate, and they have a public ip in the computer, so if i don't use wingate and i go directly, i can connect. But I shouldn't do that. How can I configure Wingate so I can get
into my other computer?

pd. pherhalps this time its more clear the situation (i hope).

Thanks for your help,

Hi,

Does Wingate have the ENS // Extended Network Services installed?

RDP uses port 3389 by default and should be available through Wingate as NAT traffic via the ENS.

I use RDP sometimes via Wingate from a client and in the Activity pane of GateKeeper it shows a NAT connection and IP:PORT.

The user trying must have permission to access if the ENS policies require authentication of some level.

Also you could upgrade to Wingate to V6.2.2 on your licence.

Hello,

Thanks for your quick answer, but it still doesnt work.
Yes, Wingate has the ENS installed and seems that 3389 is available through Wingate (I can see it in ENS-Port Security) and all the users has premission (is easier to prove it). But it still doesnt work. It seems that remote desktop dont recognize wingate as a proxy to go through, because in Activity Panel I cant see any connection.... can you help me again?

Thanks,[/img]

Ok when you say you 'can see it' let me know exactly what you mean, is there a 'Port Mapping' on 3389?

If so you should not need that and I have connected to RDP's with the default setting of 'High' for the firewall.

Can you ping the remote computer from the client, does it return replies to a client the same as from the Wingate machine?
