This is a new wingate install the server works fine
The remote machines web brouser works fine
When you try to collect the mail no mail arrives and the mail program reports errors (mail program is outlook 2003)
The install is just a standard install with no changes

Hi,

There is two approaches I use to access POP mail.

First is via proxy from a client:

Server: IP of Wingate PC
UserName: name#mail.isp.com [name is usual user name and seperator # then the remote ISP's mail server where the mail is stored].

This way Wingate will proxy your POP3 mail.

Or, NAT, in Wingate disable the POP3 Server then configure the client PC to have a direct connection with the Internet.

did not work

Postby pjbfsc » Dec 23 07 11:30 pm

I configured the mail account as sugested but no diferance

I did get it to work once
after I installed the wingate on the main machine I checked the mail on the client machine (before I installed the wingate client) and the mail came through
Once I installed the client it stopped working

What do you mean by WGIC and how do I disable it.

Also I did own wingate before I think before version 2 but my email addresses would have changed it would have been registered to me but the email address would have been paulb@iinet.net.au or paul@ois.net.au could you advise if this is still current and change the email address to my current one. thanks

Righteo, to check a licence would need more information at that age.

Have you a Licencee / Wingate Key anywhere?

As the email address may not necessarily relate unless it was the licencee section perhaps.

If you do, contact me via my web page and I'll check it for you.

With the WGIC, sorry I mean't Wingate Internet Client on your remote pc behind Wingate.
