Question on the installation of wingate

Postby dbkoi » Sep 07 04 10:41 pm

Hello there,

I have 2 questions about the installation of wingate.

1) Do I have to install any program in the different computers for wingate to work or do I only have to put the ip of the wingate server in the gateway of the clients?

2) Is wingate ready to run on Windows 2003 server?

Thnx in advance

Using NAT, you don't have to install anything on the clients. Simply point their default gateway and DNS to the WinGate server, and you'll be fine. You can use intercepts (Transparent redirection) to blend the ease of configuration of NAT with direct proxy connections so your NAT traffic get automatically redirected through the appropriate proxy. This allows you to add access rights per service, data scanning plugins, etc.

It runs on Windows 2003, several users on the forum is using this. WinGate is available on a 30 day trial - try it, see if it meets your requirements.
