Wingate & MSN Messenger Question...

Postby imasterxx » Sep 15 04 10:28 am

I'm using Wingate 5.2.3 Build 901 as a WWW proxy server through port 21 (yes i know 80 is normally used with WWW but in my situation it must be 21). Anyway, I'm able to browse the Internet with the proxy server just fine. The problem I'm having is with MSN Messenger. I have MSN messenger 6.2 (the latest version). I filled in all correct information (regarding the http proxy server I use) and even used the test function in Messenger with no problems. But when I try and sign on with Messenger it never does. Messenger gives me a popup for troubleshooting the problem and the result is nothing is wrong with the connection.
There must be some option in the Wingate setup that I overlooked that can fix this problem and let me sign on with MSN Messenger. Anyone know what it might be?
