History "plug-in"

Postby canewell » Oct 08 04 9:29 am

I am using a 4.x version of WinGate.

Running Gatekeeper on the server, There is a tab for the history. If I launce Gatekeeper from my desktop, I can view the current activity and get teh system messages, but the History reports a plug-in not installed.

I have even tested by installing a full second server, which can report it's own history, but not another machine running in the same subnet.

What am I missing.

Try mapping a drive to the WinGate folder and running it from there. (Remotely). I think some versions of 4.x (Slightly before my time) had a history plugin that was a separate DLL. It's possible that when running remotely you cannot see that file.

Secondly, in the released versions of WinGate history is not visible from a remote machine unless you are running it from a mapped drive. The history is not shipped across to GateKeeper via the link, it needs to be accessible from the client.
