Postby maxim2004 » Oct 22 04 11:31 pm

hi support again,
i've also successfully install wingate in my network and with built-in web proxy server i can block which web i don't want my client to access it...but the problem is blocking is only working when connect from other computer in my lan....the computer that wingate installed(the one which connect directly to the internet) can still access any webpage...it seems to bypass wingate and connect directly to the internet....how can i also block this type of connection...
i don't want any people in my office to access certain web at all....even the one that connect directly to the internet...

thanks alot support

Ok it seems as though you are using NAT / WGIC for the clients, then one easy method is to move all client machines to use proxies like: 192.168.5.1:80 [if that were the IP of Wingate as server].

Create a ban list in the WWW Proxy for the unauthorised sites and make sure:

i) Ignore the system rights
ii) Everyone as users for this security policy

On the Wingate machine fix all access by the localhost 127.0.0.1:80 in 'Internet Options' this will force all web access to be scrutinized by Wingate.
