Connection Monitoring

Postby wingater » Oct 30 03 2:12 am

hello all,

is it possible to get out the connection info put into Tab Firewall?

is there any function call in a WinGate dll that can be used for it?

Hi,

You can see the session traffic for the firewall in the NAT log under the Wingate\logs directory.

This can be customised in the Extended Networking service to the type of information logged.

Hope this helps.

hello, thanks

i want to react a bit faster. i know i could read out all the log files ... i think i would be better to get that information without reading files.

do you know an other way?

You should have a look at another of our products - NetPatrol. This monitors network traffic and will raise alarms when certain events happen (governed by user definable rules). In the future we hope to link this in with Wingate and its firewall.

So at the moment, if you were looking for say, an email to be sent when a certain attack was made against you, then Net Patrol can do this for you (providing you are running it on the gateway machine / the wingate machine).
