Opening 992 port for telnet protocol under TLS/SSL

Hi ,
I am using wingate 5.2.3 and I would like to open the port 992 for a web based aplication.Under service I have opened a new service (TCP mapping service).Under it propreties I enable the default mapping to adding the hosted.xxx.net and port 992.
I am trying to connect and no results.....am I doing something wrong?

Which direction is the connection coming from?

I am trying to connect from inside to outside .From my network to an internet server.

Alright, most obvious then would be:

1. Have you set the TCP Mapping to listen on the correct port that the application will be trying to connect to?

2. How do your clients connect out? (NAT, WGIC or direct proxy)

3. Is the application configured to connect to the internal IP + correct port that the TCP Mapping is listening on?
