There are a number of reasons this message can pop up. Unfortunately none of them are particularly clear cut.
Is there any correlation between server activity and this happening?! Is WinGate under heavy(ish) load at the time?! Is a cache purge in progress? Any scheduled events happening? Has Gatekeeper been logged in for a long time?
Oh and which version of WinGate are you running?!
