WinGate and Wingate VPN

Postby mattiske » Jun 01 05 7:28 pm

We are using WinGate Pro 3.0.4 on an old NT4 Workstation box (we purchased an upgrade to 4.5 but could never get it to work, grrr). We want to upgrade to Wingate Pro 6 (12 users) and also want to implement WinGate VPN (6 user). Can we install both products on the same server or will we need both a Proxy server and a VPN server?

Basically, it's one and the same product - licensing makes them different. If you have Wingate installed you automatically have VPN as well.

Ok. So if we download the WinGate 6.0.4 exe, purchase the licences, get the keys, install the exe on the work-station, enter the keys and validate the licences, then we should be off and running with Wingate proxy server and VPN?
We only need to install the WinGate6.0.4-1024 exe?

That's right. Mind you, you need Wingate on both sides of the VPN connection.
