Blue screen with XP home edition

Postby brianbrowne » Jun 04 05 8:08 am

I am installing wingate vpn on windows XP home edition (latest service packs).

I have Zone Alert firewall and Norton virus checking.

When I install Wingate VPN - as soon as I connect to the Internet through DSL the the computer blue screens, with an error about addressing non pageable memory.

I have to de-install Wingate VPN then re-boot the pc to get the pc working. If I just de-install wingate but do not re-boot the pc and connect to the internet it still blue screens.

Help please...

Hi Brian,

Probably way off, but can the resident antivirus be disabled from accessing open files within the Wingate folder in total, as this has caused issues for other features to run properly.

Please report back:
Is Wingate's firewall active at the same time?
    The version of Wingate
Any plugins other than VPN installed?

Somone will take it further as it is out of my area to be helpful!
