DNS nor NAT initiates Dialer (again)

Postby pascal_b » Jun 08 05 12:43 am

Hi all, I'm facing the same problem than some others (after checking this forum). I have a problem with wingate 6.04. Even though "Connect as required" is checked and the connection profile is ok (manually hitting DIAL dials!) and DNS Service "allow request to initiate dialer" is checked, it won't dial if a DNS request is made.
The wingate server is running under windows 2000, I reinstalled the connectoid and checking the history there is a DNS request but no connection is made.

Modem used is ECI and connection is with wanadoo under ADSL.

Any idea for solving this trouble?

1. On the internal network card of your WinGate Server machine ... do you have any DNS or Gateway set? Ususally that setting is always blank.

2. Is your Windows 2000 machine a server? Does it run Active Directory?

Thank you James.

The good news is: it works now. I did reinstallation again, with an updated driver of the ECI modem.

To answer the questions, DNS and Gateway were not set (there was already a remark on this forum related to these parameters).

No Win2K is not running AC.

Again thank you for the answer.
