PROBLEM WINGATE AS DNS & DHCP SERVER

Postby RECTON » Jun 11 08 3:31 am

I would like to use WINGATE only as a DNS and DHCP server with windows 32 bits. My purpose is to resolve the wpad.pac asked by client stations to connect to the internet through a cascaded proxy which manages the client authentification. The problem is that it is Wingate that logs to my proxy and not the clients. Once the connection is established, there is no more identifcation asked for new clients. Is there a way to redirect each client to my proxy with WINGATE as DNS and DHCP server ?
Thank you for your answer.

answered at help desk

The WPAD files can be found under the WinGate Directory in the Resources folder.
The clients need to have their DNS setting pointing the WinGate's DNS server, and automaticaly detect proxy settings turned on.
