What type of hardware is this running on? Dell, HP, Compaq, clone?

Are you using RAID? If so, what level and SCSI or SATA drives?

If using RAID, are you using the native controller or an aftermarket?

Is this on a virtual server or native hardware?

Is the hardware this was installed on new or has it been in service for awhile?

Is this a fresh install of 2003, or was WG installed over an older 2003 load? I assume you're using the latest version of Wingate.

normally the only part of WinGate that can cause a bluescreen is the ENS driver, however that driver has no interaction whatsoever with the file system, so I'm suspicious it's some other problem.

In addition to the questions above, Is this a 32 bit OS?

Did you install the drivers that came with the system, or did you let Windows install the drivers automatically? Windows has a Hardware Compatibility LIst (HCL) that specifies what systems it will support natively. You can run other systems, but the manufacturer will need to supply drivers to make it work.

This sounds like you have a driver issue [edit: or a component like the motherboard or hard drive is flaky]. WG probably just pushed things to cause it to fail.
