Wingate and Trend Micro Office Scan

Postby gabrieljvr » Sep 27 05 9:25 pm

We have Wingate and Trend Micro Office Scan installed on the same machine.Trend Micro Office scan uses it's own information Server to deploy pattern updates to the client workstations on the network. It is working fine, and can download the pattern files grom the Internet. The workstations are configured to use the proxy server component to get onto the internet. That is all working fine. The problem is when the workstations are trying to get their pattern updates from Trend Micro Office Scan Server (on the Wigate machine), it says it can't communicate with the Office scan server. We have opened all the relevant ports in Wingate. What else can we check?

Hi Gaweie,

I have sent you this email on the 15th, 20 sept and today. Do you have something blocking our emails? If it is a problem on our end; please accept our apologies

Email from 15th Sept

We installed Trend Micro OfficeScan on a WinGate server in our test lab:
WinXP Pro SP2
WinGate 6.0.4
No OfficeScan Client

We then installed the client software on a Windows 2000 computer. We updated the server, then updated the clients; all worked as expected (We did it a few times)
1. Are you seeing any firewall hits in GateKeeper?
GateKeeper --> View menu --> Firewall
2. Are you receiving system messages when a client tries to connect?
GateKeeper --> View menu --> System Messages
3. Can you check that WinGate detected your network adapters correctly? The network card pointing towards the LAN should be marked as "Internal" and the network card / modem pointing towards the internet should me marked as "External"
GateKeeper --> View menu --> Networks
4. What port number is your OfficeScan server running on?
5. What OS is WinGate running on?
6. What version of WinGate?
