Qbikhkxp.sys

Postby mblist@aoema.org » Sep 29 05 5:10 pm

Is anyone STILL having problems with Qbikhkxp.sys BSOD's. I am using XP SP2 and the latest version of Wingate. Just did a clean install of XP on my machine and the ONLY other program I installed was Wingate. It was OK for 5 days and now, today I get a Qbikhkxp.sys BSOD again. I am bitterly disappointed

So you had WinGate running for 5 days ok, then on a restart on the 5th day you got the BSOD?

1. Had you changed any network settings; e.g. Bridged a connection?
2. Did you have the Windows firewall and ICS turned off via services
3. Can you confirm WinGate is the only app you installed.
4. Does the Windows Event Viewer indicate what the problem is.
5. Did you restart the WinGate server at all during those 5 days?
6. It sounds like you have had this happen before, can you give a brief description of the symptoms last time?

No

2. Did you have the Windows firewall and ICS turned off via services
Yes

3. Can you confirm WinGate is the only app you installed.
This is a Toshiba laptop so the standard toshiba install includes a lot of "stuff". The internetnet connection is Satellite which requires software. Apart from that, the only thing I installed is Wingate

4. Does the Windows Event Viewer indicate what the problem is.
Event ID 1003
Error code 000000d1, parameter1 000be004, parameter2 00000002
parameter3 00000001, parameter4 f75b727e
...There is a bugcheck reference as well if you want that

5. Did you restart the WinGate server at all during those 5 days?
At least every morning. I run on alternate energy so everything gets shut down overnight.

6. It sounds like you have had this happen before, can you give a brief description of the symptoms last time?
It has been the same for months. Recently these errors kept coming thick and fast so I decided to reinstall the operating system. During this process, the disk crashed, so I purchased a new disk and reinstalled from the factory disks, upgraded to SP2 with the SP2 disk, connected to the satellite with the satellite software, installed Wingate, did the latest Windows updates and have been stable for 5, maybe 6 days.

Yes, that would help too.

1. Can you please show us the result of an ipconfig/all
(Windows) Start menu --> run --> cmd --> ipconfig/all

2. Can you show the result of a route print
(Windows) Start menu --> run --> cmd --> route print

3. Can you do a search on your computer for files called *.dmp (the file that contains the BSOD info) and find the one with the relevant date of the last crash. Please send to sales@wingate.com and reference this forum post.

To start with, remove the DNS servers from the 192.168.0.1 address

Thanks for the Dump file. I will need to find someone to check it out; our developer who usually looks after this is away.

I also presume that the Satellite connection is marked as External in WinGate and the 192.168.0.1 connection is marked as Internal
(GateKeeper --> View Menu --> Networks --> Network Connections.)

Thanks for those recommendations. I have removed the DNS from the 192...connection.

Yes the Satellite is external and the 192... is internal
