Attempting to access Proxy Server from Internal network

Postby John_L » Aug 23 12 2:57 am

I have Wingate installed on a system with 2 network adapters (1 internal and 1 External). I have opened port 80 for Proxy Service connections in my (3rd party) Firewall software.

When I point my client system browser to the Wingate Internal IP address for Proxy Service, I receive a Firewall notification (on the Wingate/server system) that the connection attempt was received and allowed.

However, there is no corresponding indication in Wingate that the connection attempt was forwarded from the Firewall.

What additional error isolation information can I obtain to determine the source of the problem?

Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

Hi

Firstly you should check that WinGate WWW proxy is properly started on port 80.

It should show on the bindings tab of the WWW proxy.

What is the 3rd party firewall you're running on that system? Did you install the WinGate Network driver as well?

Regards
