Bandwidth Control : help me !

Postby Christian3 » Nov 08 05 8:09 am

Hello,

I seek to configure Wingate (v 6.x) so that it allows me amongst other things, two things:

- Internet sharing for a software P2P (eMule)
- Restriction of the flow in "upload" (other customers P2P coming to download on my files)

Here parameters of my network:

- Access Internet ADSL in 512 KB (download) / ~ 120 KB (upload)
- A PC where is installed Wingate (connected to Internet / IP of LAN interface : 192.168.0.1
- A PC where is installed eMule (connected to the LAN / IP : 192.168.0.4
- Configuration of the software eMule = port TCP : 4762 / port UDP : 4672 / Connection on Wingate by Sock 5 (192.168.0.1 : 80)
- Configuration of Wingate = Sock, NAT, Firewall : activated / Redirection of ports TCP 4762 and UDP 4672 : Internet computers to Wingate PC, Redirect Packet to IP addresses 192.168.0.4, Don't translate Source IP, Override port (4762 or 4672)

The operation of the sharing is as follows :

- I see my software eMule to connect myself by Sock on other IP addresses outsides
- I see other IP addresses outsides being connected by the NAT on my software eMule

There is my questions :

- My software eMule is it it correctly configured to connect itself on Wingate ?
- Wingate is it correctly configured to allow the connection of my software eMule (in download and upload) ?
- Could you indicate to me the precise configuration of Bandwidth Control to allow me the restriction of the flow in upload on my software eMule (5 KB maximum) and to allow the use of the remaining bandwidth (download and upload) for all remaining connections (WWW, ftp...) ?

I search for a long time, can you help me ?

Thank you very much.

Christian

You have to follow BT configuration procedure, outlined in the documentation - it is not really easy to give general advise on this topic.
