WRP control keeps disappearing

Postby pss2020 » Nov 23 05 2:33 pm

Hi

I dont see any other post on this issue, its been around since
v6,6.04 and still in v6.1 and seems to happen on all pcs
from P3 to P4 512mb or 1gb of ram and same lan cards
on same lan configuration

it maybe related also when I upgraded home lan to wireless, 54g linksys ?? Im not sure, but i have uninstalled WGIC and reinstalled
as well.. done all the normal admin checks

normally when you reboot pc WRP control sessions kick for
iexplorer, messenger, yahoo chat, msn, nortons, alg.exe, ccapp.exe
etc and all works

but every so often, not sure how it occurs all these vanish from the
client activity in gatekeep.exe view panel
I think also happens if shut down server before the client pcs
are shutdown as well.

although most things work find even if they WRP control not shown
in gatekeeper view panel

I find chat programs espc yahoo 7 drops out every few minutes
since WRP control can control session times outs but
when its gone you cant
as just lists the connect for it as NAT:TCP ip:port#
which has no session expire settings in the extended network part
normally you have NAT and WRP control for ypager.exe, YTPRO.exe
etc and all works fine

NOW
if I closed all apps down that access web or sockets

and enter control panel

wingate icon and advance tab

click reset client

and reboot pc

all is back normal..

theres got to be a bug in WGIC , wingate client part
thats not initiating WRP control on boot up all the time

it maybe related to wire cards

but perhaps WGIC needs to refresh on start?!?
it would sort out this issue

also needs to detect and reenable properly if the server is shut down

I find I have to click REFRESH wingate server list when that happens
as its not done automatically..

but that issue been about since all ver of wingate I believe
