Wingate query

Hi,
i am working in LAN. we r using proxy connection. pc on which internet connection is there,also having wingate installed. please tell me using wingate can we stop internet surfing,because when i stop wingate engine by right click on systray icon, not a single site is open but if again i start wingate engine then it is opening all the site.just help about me. also tell me i am using yahoo messenger. can it is possible to store contents of chat in wingate history, so that adminstrator can see all that chat contents. please help about it pls.

you can stop access to all www sites by stopping the WWW service under the services tab - then set it to manual start by right-clicking and choosing 'properties'.

if you want some sort of filtering on which sites you have access to, install puresight 2 (with wingate 6.1+) or puresight 1 with older versions.

note however, that the new puresight blocks yahoo messenger content, so you would need to untick 'webmail' in the categories section.
