problems enabling just 2 sites for a user

Postby jclagos » Jan 28 06 7:12 am

Hello:

I'm trying to restrict all the sites and just allow 2 sites for a user using wingate policies below WWW proxy server (Default right system policies are ignored).

What I do is select the user I have (user is assumed), I go to advanced tab, and select "Specify which requests..." I make a filter, then a criterion, and I choose HTTP URL contains "viabcp" for website www.viabcp.com not so restrictive.

but when I do all that, all sites including that are restricted, I would like just that site to load for that user, but nothing :(

when I delete that criterion, all sites load, but when I make just that restriction the www.viabcp.com page that is supposed to be loading, it doesnt load.

Please help :( maybe I'm doing something wrong)

Thanks

Hi,

Give us a few more details on your WG setup. Which version, client connection method (NAT, Intercepted(redirection), or direct to proxy), OS etc. Do you get a system message in Gatekeeper?

Can you please review this Knowledge Base article: http://support.qbik.com/index.php?_a=kn ... ils&_i=124

Instead of using the Everyone group as shown in the article, use the Users/Group name. Also beware that WinGate will let the least permissive policy through.
i.e. If the user joebloggs can only access two websites, but the Everyone group can access any website, then joebloggs can access any website, because he is part of the Everyone group.

Also, do not forget to set the Default Rights as Ignored.
