how to use wingate to rotate dial up accounts / proxy server

Postby mattlepa » Feb 16 06 6:13 pm

We have multiple dial up accounts with different providers and want to provide access to these accounts using a proxy server interface.

This is our situation. We need to perform stress tests on our servers and connect to our web sites from different locations on the internet. In order to do so we dial up into different geographic locations and perform traceroutes from those locations. This resutls in approximately 50 dial up connections stored on the computer, through various providers.

Ideally what we want to do is randomly connect to each of these dial up accounts based on a connection a specific proxy port, or if by some other means the client can trigger the wingate server to change connections.

We have 3 modems attached to the machine. We do not need to dial connections simotameously, but it woud be ideal if there is some way to have the client drop and connect to a different dial up account on demand remotely, or choose what gateway to be used.

Can we bind a proxy server to a specific IP like 192.168.1.3:4000 will dial up one account, 192.168.1.3:4010 will dial up another account, so on and so fourth. Once all connections are used it would drop one of them or prompt & connect.

Is there a direct or round about way this can be achieved?
