Hi,

We have a W2k server and Wingate 6.0.4 having a private/public IP address. I was just wondering we have our server alias to the private IP. With the dns pointing to the private IP (internal)...i.e. proxy.domain.com A 172.x.x.x. Our public IP is 209.x.x.x
I was just thinking would this cause the problem from our subscribers not getting into the website of yahoo and hotmail? Simulating the subscriber's side and going to yahoo site with their IP address 66.94.230.50 ; 44 ; 45 and I can go there with no problem. If I use the URL then it goes to a bogus site.
Woul this be an issue with our alias is pointing to the private IP?

Thanks,
Ricky

Hi,

plus another info....we see in the History under Activity DNS: Unknown lookup "proxy.domain.com" (domain is our domain).
Can you tell us any info why we are having this. Is this related to any problem we have before? We are using the latest version 6.1.1 upgrade from 6.0.4

Thanks,
Ricky
