Allowing WMRecorder to run on my computer...

Postby damians » Mar 09 06 12:30 pm

Hi!! I´m not used to work on my wingate installation. Somebody installed it for me, but I´m not the one who "knows", so please helppp!!!

I try to run WM Recorder on my computer so as to record streaming video. But the program does not work because I have to "allow this program" in my firewall, which I assume is my wingate (version 5.0.7). I do not know how to allow a program, as the example shows it might be easily done in MS Firewall.

Thank you very much for your help!!

Ok, the first thought would be to upgrade to a later version of WinGate. 5.0.7 is quite old and the upgrade (Re-using your existing, registered license key) is free.

What you would need to do though is to look at which ports the application requires. I'm not familiar with it; so can't really tell you what it needs. (Provide a link to their article that explains how it should be setup with the MS Firewall?)

For example, if it is accepting connections you'd need to setup a redirect through the WinGate firewall for it.
