Dividing mail on local and internet

Postby CPA3Y » May 16 06 11:56 pm

Hello!
Sorry for my bad English: i am from Russia. We need support for WinGate6.1.1.1077, which we use as primary mail server and proxy.
We need to divide users into 2 groups: 1st group can send mail to internet and recieve from it. 2nd group can send and recieve mail ONLY in local network.
How we can solve this problem with wingate tools?

Hi

To do this, you'll need policies like the following

First, set up groups. Let's call them "Restricted", and "Unrestricted"

say your local internal domain name is internal.ru

OK, for the SMTP server in WinGate, you would set the policies as follows.

* Default policies "are ignored"

* Policy 1.
recipient "Restricted"
user may be assumed
Advanced Tab
Filter 1
SMTP Recipient contains "internal.ru"

* Policy 2.
recipient "Unrestricted"
user may be assumed

You will need to have some way to tell which user is which. These policies will allow members of group "Unrestricted" to send mail to anyone, but members of group "Restricted" will only be able to send mail to your internal domain.

For retrieving mail, only allow access to the POP3 proxy for people in the unrestricted group.

Regards
