SMTP Log Error: Failed to move message XXXX with reason 183

Postby Ilya Evseev » Jun 03 06 1:46 am

There is WinGate 6.1.1 build 1077 under Windows Server 2003 SP1.
Unce upon a time a power failure was happen, and now outgoing mail is no more delivered to senders.
Instead that, WinGate writes to SMTP log:

Error: ==== Failed to move message 0000030128 with reason 183

So, what means 183 code?

Hi

Error 183 means the target file already exists. That means that when the system crashed last time, it was in between moving then deleting a file.

Try deleting the target file with the same name.
You will only be getting this message if the RCP file wasn't already processed, so deleting the target should mean the message gets processed.
