I have a win2ksp4 server with 3 nics. I have subnetted (I think) my ip traffic into 2 different sides. I dont know if by doing this, I slowed things down, or creating problems.
nic1=10.0.0.1 255.255.255.0 (upstairs network)
nic2=10.0.1.0 255.255.255.0 (downstairs network)
nic3=external ip (WAN)
Wingate seems to work fine for the most part, but every so often traffic will just stop, and I have to restart the engine. Sometimes it's once a week, sometimes takes 3 weeks. It's very itermittent.
I have read on this forum briefly that routing problems can occur with multiple internal nics like I have setup, is this the case? Can one of you elaborate on this? Do I not have the subnets defined properly or something?
What is an ideal setup for Wingate? 2 nics only?
I'm just curious, I wouldn't mind taking out one of the internal nics's if you guys recommend so.
I hope this all makes sense. :)
