Upgrade 7.3 to 8.0.3

Is the upgrade from 7.3 to the latest version of WG 8 as simple as it seems (assuming I renew my license)? Gatekeeper shows that 8.0.3.4625 is ready to install.

I'm hoping it's as easy as every other update has been for WG 7.

Hi

you can install it over the top.

There are a couple of things:

1. if you're running any plugins (Kaspersky AV or PureSight for WinGate), then you need to update those as well
2. http cache is very different, so you'll lose cache content, and may need to check cache configuration after the upgrade

No plugins at this time.
Despite my best efforts at using the cache in version 7, it always seemed to be slower than just downloading from the internet, so I don't use it. I'm hoping version 8 works better, sounds like you re-worked the cache indexing.

We changed the cache indexing considerably and it should now function significantly faster than before. We have also added a number of configuration options to control what does and does not get cached. Hopefully you have a better experience with it now and we'd love to hear how it works for you. If you have problems with it, please let us know.
