Licence activation Feature Request

Postby arsham » Nov 09 13 5:59 pm

I am using my laptop behind proxy server which requires HTTP Proxy authentication, in order to use my mobile devices(except browser android doesn't support proxy authentication for other apps) I have created HTTP server which authenticates and serves clients on different port than the provider. Then activating license online over internet there is a proxy setting check box with only IP:PORT setting. would be happy to see username and password for authentication or the activation wizard automatically detect whenever the proxy-server requests authentication then a dialog to open to input username and password.

Hi

sorry I don't understand what you mean.

You are using a separate web server to authenticate your android clients?

Are you having trouble activating WinGate licenses through an upstream proxy, or is this activating other software? If so, WinGate has no control over whether that software provides configuration for user/pass or not.

Simply WinGate Doesn't activate if it is behind HTTP PROXY server which requires Authentication.

Hi

I just took another look, and you're right! We will add a user/pass field so this can also be specified.

in the meantime you can activate using a browser if you choose to activate off-line. In this case, you just generate a file to upload to our activation server, and get the activation file back which you can then import. Then you're using a web browser, which can handle authentication.
