Wingate. Balancing Mode for ethernet internet.

Hi,

WinGate isn't really a load-balancer, you'd be better off using the underlying OS to balance load. WinGate does support gateway rotation, which you can enable in the gateways tab of the WWW proxy service properties.

I tried this way (gateway rotation) for load balancing and this worked not well - not because of Wingate, but because many internet sites just do not expect that client ip (it is your external ip and it is different for different modems) switches within one session. Wingate choose gateway randomly for every new request and web servers are often confused of it.

Sorry. just noticed your question. No, you need nothing additionally. You go services, WWW Proxy server, doubleclick (or right click - Properties), window with WWW Proxy Server properties pops up. You go to Gateways tab and chose Connection Scheme "Use all specified connection in rotation". If you see only one connection in a list, you need to Add a second (third, forth) connection. Just push Add button and choose another network interface.
Wingate sends each new http request through next modem, and your traffic will be distributed between two (3. 4) modems.

Please keep in mind - it is not a real load balancing, and this works not well on some sites.
